Yumeng Zhang
Hi! I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Monash University.
I am supervised by Prof. Jiangning Song and Prof. Tony Purcell. Standing at the intersection of advanced AI techniques and Biomedicine, I am working on developing cutting-edge computational biology approaches to tackle fundamental immunology questions, such as TCR-pMHC recognition, and immune receptor design.
My research focuses on developing machine learning and generative AI methods to understand, predict, and design antigen-specific immune receptors. I am particularly interested in TCR-pMHC interaction modeling, antigen-specific TCR generation, and single-cell immune repertoire analysis. I wish that these computational efforts will facilitate the development of immunotherapy in the future.
Before traveling to Australia, I obatined my Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, majoring in Bioinformatics. Guided by Prof. Hong-Yu Ou, my postgraduate research focused on mining secreted effectors from Gram-negative bacterial genomes. I also worked as a research intern at Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Laboratory in 2021.
